When was the last time you sat back, stared off into space and wandered around the back rooms of your mind? Taking the time to unplug, kick back and stare off into space without consciously thinking of anything is becoming a lost art in this age of technology. We are “all connected, all the time.”
Creativity takes a back seat if you live with your brain constantly in overdrive. You need downtime to recharge, discover new ideas, and possibly have an epiphany or two.
This weekend, your writing assignment doesn’t involve writing at all. Instead, take time for a “creative pause.” Step away from the computer. Turn off the cell phone. Set aside the remote for the TV and take some deep breaths. Better yet, if the weather is agreeable, leave all those things behind and take a long walk, or go climb in the shower and hide for as long as you can get away with it, or until the hot water runs out.

This week, in honor of the “unplugged” mentality, there is no post and share challenge.

“Creativity takes a back seat if you live with your brain constantly in overdrive.” — So true!
Unfortunately, most of us seem to live in “fast-forward.” I hope you find time to recharge this weekend.
