Weekend Assignment: Mementos

Welcome to another weekend of writing fun! This week’s assignment focuses on mementos — those little tokens we squirrel away to remind us of people, places, and happy occasions.

Maybe you have a favorite photo from your childhood or a seashell from a beach. It doesn’t matter what the object is, it is the story behind it that we are interested in this weekend.

Let’s start by taking a trip down memory lane. Spend a few minutes examining your memento. Where did it come from? Why is it important to you?  What memories does it stir?

Turn those memories into a short essay or blog post where you bring the story of your souvenir to life for readers. Aim for at least 500 words.

The Show and Tell Challenge

Step right up and take the B&B Show and Tell Challenge! Here’s how. Simply write your response to this assignment, post it on your blog, then come back and leave a link to your post in the comments. It’s that simple!

    Here’s the latest.

    • You are very welcome. 🙂 I enjoy seeing what people write in response. I liked the way you used Peanut as a unifying thread throughout the flashes you wrote about your life.
