What will you write about this month? If you need some ideas to get the creative juices flowing, try one of these writing sparks. Use the ideas individually, or mix and match them as your muse sees fit.

Query spark: Ghouls and gremlins abound this month. It’s Halloween for publications with a six-month lead time.

Story Spark: Man’s best friend

Character Spark: Invent a person who fits this quote by John Bright ~ โ€œHe is a self-made man and worships his creator.โ€

Setting Spark: How about a submarine? I love 360 degree virtual tours. ๐Ÿ™‚ Just the place for a steampunk tale, a museum mystery, or maybe some foreign intrigue. The choice is up to you.

Fun Spark: How-to articles are staples of writers everywhere. The Content Farm is a spoofy site that’s both fun and inspirational. Check out this version of instructions for building a peanut butter sandwich. How about writing your own updated how-to?
