What will you write about this month? If you need some ideas to get the creative juices flowing, try one of these writing sparks. Use the ideas individually, or mix and match them as your muse sees fit.
Query Spark: If the publication you are pitching has a six-month lead time, December holidays, recipes and crafts are on editors’ minds now. Get querying.
Character Spark: “It’s funny how dogs and cats know the inside of folks better than other folks do, isn’t it?” ~ Eleanor H. Porter, Pollyanna
Create a character who someone’s pet (of any sort) does not like.
Story Spark: Write about a wish with unexpected results.
Setting Spark: Perhaps your character is lost, stranded, or driving between places on a road like this one.
Fun Spark: If you’ve tried your hand at six-word stories, how about tackling a Six-Word Memoir? These tiny pieces of writing can be accomplished while sitting in traffic.
