Weekend Assignment: Mixed Messages

This past week I tried to send a text message with the word “wormhole” in it (don’t ask). For some reason, my cell phone substituted “worngnke” instead. It left me wondering what the heck worngnke is, and why it is considered a word while wormhole is not. For those of you as baffled as I, worngnke is NOT a word. Not even in Wikipedia.

Auto-correct is a large part of our cell phone culture. The creation of horrible missives has spawned all sorts of posts dedicated to showing us how mangled our messages can get.

Your mission this weekend is to write about a text message gone wrong. You might write about garbled text, a mixed message, or a text sent to the wrong person. The result can be humorous or tragic — whatever you imagine.

The Show and Tell Challenge

Step right up and take the B&B Show and Tell Challenge! Here’s how: simply write your response to this assignment, post it on your blog, then come back and leave a link to your post in the comments. It’s that simple!
