For writers, November is the month of NaNoWriMo, otherwise known as NaNo. Which is all fine and good if you’re an aspiring novelist who can fit it into your schedule. But what if you aren’t up to writing 50k this month? Perhaps you have time to explore another kind of nano: nano-fiction.
Nano-fiction is best described as a short-short story containing 250 words or less, but for this weekend, let’s think of it as a story small enough to fit on a Post-It note. Why? Because something about the Post-It note art of Marc Johns speaks to me, and it makes this writing assignment an excellent companion to Wednesday’s post about doodling.
This weekend, create a nano story (complete with doodle) on a single sticky note. You can start with the story and add the doodle later, or begin by doodling and go from there.
The Show and Tell Challenge
Step right up and take the B&B Show and Tell Challenge! Here’s how: simply write your response to this assignment (or take a picture of your Post-It), post it on your blog, then come back and leave a link to your post in the comments. It’s that simple!
