It’s that time again. Time to polish up your best pieces and send them out into the world to shine. If you’re looking for new markets, here are some shiny new links to contributor guidelines. I hope you find something useful.

Disclaimer: Bear in mind that I am sharing these links not endorsing them. While I’ve checked out these sites, always read the complete guidelines before submitting anything AND always do your homework.

Biblio Buffet looks for book reviews, personal essays, humor, commentary and more. They pay $10 for guest columns ($20 to regular contributors).

MakeUseOf.com looks for tech-savvy writers to compose helpful tech articles for blogs.  They are particularly interested in regular contributions. Pay starts at $50.

Mother Jones says “We’re interested in just about anything that will raise our readers’ eyebrows, but we focus especially on these areas: national politics, environmental issues, corporate wrongdoing, human rights, and political influence in all spheres.”  They look for articles for use online and in their print magazine.

Popular Mechanics favors how-to articles on the topics of automotive, home improvement, science and technology, among others. They pay on acceptance and purchase all rights.

Glimmer Train  literary journal publishes original fiction. The writing guidelines change depending on the month, so be sure to check them before submitting. In general they look for fiction from 2,000 words and up.
