Outdoor Photographer looks for fresh pieces about modern photography in the outdoors. They use interviews and portfolios from professional and amateur photographers, travel destinations, new technology, and tips for better photography.
Articles about creative ways to save money are the mainstays of The Dollar Stretcher. A typical piece runs 500-700 words and covers some aspect of frugal living. Recent features have included ways to save $1000 in a year, how to spot a used car scam, and how to price items for a garage sale.
National Parks magazine presents information specific to the national parks. They prefer queries related to park wildlife, scientific discoveries, legislation (as it applies to the national parks) and endangered plants or animals. Past issues are available to view in pdf format via Google Books here.
Blue Mountain Arts publishes greeting cards, and gift products. They accept freelance submissions of contemporary prose and poetry of a personal nature. They do NOT use one-liners, humor, or rhymed poetry. Read complete guidelines prior to submitting.
