What will you write about this month? If you need some ideas to get the creative juices flowing, try one of these writing sparks. Use the ideas individually, or mix and match them as your muse sees fit.
Query Spark: Welcome to January (in six-month lead time, that is). New beginnings are the focus of many publications at this time of the year. Home makeovers, people makeovers, makeovers in general are popular. Get querying.
Character Spark: Write about a character with a secret name. Why is it a secret? What does it mean?
Story Spark: What unusual item is currently in your character’s refrigerator? Tell the story behind it.
Setting Spark: The back room in an antique store, at night.
Fun Spark: Honesty is the best policy, right? While visiting Doghouse Diaries, I ran across this more honest approach to “By checking this box you agree you have read and understand our terms…” Use the idea as a jumping off point for one of your own.
