Writing Markets July 2012

It’s time for July’s collection of market links.  This month brings five more places to send your writing. You are sending out submissions, right?

Disclaimer: Bear in mind that I am sharing these links not endorsing them. While I’ve checked out these sites, always read the complete guidelines before submitting anything AND always do your homework.

Pacific Standard features writing on the topics of politics, health, the environment, culture, and education. ALL stories have a basis in research and they have a particular interest in stories related to the states and countries bordering the Pacific Ocean.

Original dark fantasy and horror between 2k and 8k words may find a home at Cover of Darkness. They publish quarterly and pay a flat rate of $15 for previously unpublished work.

A name like Lovecraft eZine should give a strong hint what this publication seeks. They are the place to submit Lovecraftian and Cthulu fiction. Rates vary according to the length of the work. They pay via PayPal.

Your Teen Magazine for Parents accepts writing for both the print and web edition. They look for articles and essays on all topics related to raising and living with teens. Query first.

Cosmo Babies (Low pay) is looking for fresh, new content for their online magazine for parents. Among their current needs (according to their guidelines): articles about preschool, parenting, pregnancy, and baby names. A typical article for them runs between 200 and 500 words.
