A Resource for Hearing Voices in Your Head and Other Fictional Afflictions

Those longtime followers among you know I have a particular fondness for TED.com and all the wonderful idea-inspiring videos therein. Yesterday, I stumbled onto an offshoot of TED: TEDEd. More precisely, I found a series on TEDEd called The Writer’s Workshop.

TEDEd is meant to be an online learning forum, and the fourteen lessons in the writing workshop are each made up of three parts:  A video to “Watch,” a question and answer section that invites you to “Think,” and finally, an area devoted to more extensive exploration titled “Dig Deeper.” There’s also the ability to start or join online discussions about the lessons.  While I haven’t watched all of them, the ones that I have viewed have been short and entertaining, like this one on writing dialogue:

Of course, you can also dig around through lessons outside The Writer’s Workshop. Just looking at the titles of some of the series available has sparked creative ideas for me. Superhero Science, anyone?

Take a few minutes and check it out.
