Weekend Assignment: 13 Questions

Ages ago Rita Fennelly conducted what has to be my favorite interview of all time. She interviewed Neil Gaiman for Sequential Tart (back in 2006) and asked him 13 of the most unconventional questions ever. The result? A candid and funny (or should that be candidly funny?) Q&A that went places no interview had ever gone before. Including inside Mr. Gaiman’s pockets. You can read the result here.

The Assignment Part 1: Use the interview as a model and create a list of 13 new questions that are unlikely to be asked in a serious interview.

The Assignment Part 2: Interview yourself using those questions (or swap questions with a writing pal). Write up the interview of yourself and post it on your blog. It’s a great way to let readers know a little more about yourself.

Weekend Bonus Assignment for the Fictionauts: Interview your protag using unconventional questions. Share the results on your blog.

Show and tell? C’mon, you know you want to. Post a link to your blog in the comments here. I’ll post my Q&A here later this weekend or on Monday morning.

Happy Writing!
